New Jersey Defective Products
When you buy a product, you have certain rights as a consumer. The most basic is the right to be safe while using the item. Companies have an obligation to design and manufacture safe products. If they fail in this obligation and you’re hurt by a that product you could be entitled to compensation.
The range of defective product cases typically fall into three categories:
- Defectively Manufactured Products – any injury that is the result of a manufactured product being flawed because of some error or mishap in making it causing that particular product to be different from all the other ones on the shelf.
- Defectively Designed Products – any injury that is the result of the design of the entire line of products that is inherently dangerous or defective, regardless of the fact that the product line was perfectly made according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Failure to Provide Adequate Warnings or Instructions – any injury that results in failure to provide adequate warnings or instructions about the product’s proper use.
